16 Healthy Cafés in Paris for Brunch, Bowls and Better Coffee
The classic Paris café is a wonderful place to watch the street and a terrible place to eat light: a croque-monsieur, a ham baguette, a salad drowned in dressing. The new wellness spots aren't always better, with pastel açaí bowls priced like a main course and a rating built on Instagram likes.
These 16 healthy cafés in Paris sit in between: seasonal brunches, plant-based stews, gluten-free bread and serious coffee or tea, checked across Time Out, Le Fooding and our other sources. For a full meal, see our healthy food page; for the caffeine, our coffee shops.

What makes a good healthy café in Paris
A menu that changes with the season, food made on site, and a drink worth sitting down for. Those are the signs we look for. Most places on this list open in the morning and close by late afternoon, so check the hours on each place page before you go, and use the filters above to narrow by neighborhood.
Plant-based plates and seasonal brunch
In the Marais, Kitchen keeps things simple and affordable: a veggie or vegan stew, roasted vegetable plates, Lomi coffee, and pancakes that pull a weekend crowd. La Main Noire, at the foot of the Montmartre cemetery, brings Melbourne coffee culture and rewrites its menu every two weeks: shakshuka, mushroom pancakes, vegan kefta, a spiced raw cacao latte. Maslow, in the 1st and the 3rd, cooks vegetarian sharing plates from regenerative farms, with a Sunday brunch at its Temple address. More morning spots in our breakfast guide.
Superfoods, gluten-free and fermented
Sol Semilla, near the Canal Saint-Martin, is fully vegan and gluten-free, with superfood bowls and cacao drinks. Boulangerie Chambelland, in Oberkampf, bakes everything gluten-free with rice flour; its pain de sucre with candied orange and chocolate chips can sell out on weekends, so order online. Maeum, in the 4th, is a small Korean café built on fermented and vegetarian dishes. See also our vegan food and bakeries.
Tea, cake and a little indulgence
Not everything here is virtuous, and that's fine. Kodama Tiquetonne, near Montorgueil, pours ceremonial matcha and rare blends with homemade pastries. Bontemps, on rue de Bretagne, serves sablés and seasonal tarts in a pastel tea room; our pastry shops have more. Echo, in the Sentier, balances farmers market salads with a smash burger.
