58 Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurants in Paris, Veggies First
Order vegetarian in a classic Paris brasserie and you'll often get the same thing: a goat cheese salad, or the side dishes on a plate with an apology. Plenty of places tick the vegetarian box on Google; far fewer cook vegetables like they mean it.

Eating vegetarian at a Paris restaurant, without compromise
One thing to know first: the vegetarian tag here means a kitchen that treats vegetarians well, not a meat-free menu. You'll find bistros famous for their duck next to a restaurant where vegetables are the whole point. Open each place page to see its must-try dishes, then filter by price and neighborhood above.
Where vegetables are the headline
Tekés, in the 2nd, is Assaf Granit's plant-focused restaurant, built on Jerusalem recipes: cauliflower schnitzel, grilled leeks, fattoush, laffa bread, a pumpkin soufflé with thyme ice cream. It gets loud and festive, so book. In the Marais, Miznon roasts whole cauliflowers and stuffs ratatouille into warm pita, with no reservations. More in our Middle Eastern food list.
Pasta, pizza and dumplings
Italian and Chinese kitchens make life easy for vegetarians. Dilia, a 20-seat trattoria in the 20th, serves beetroot gnocchi and artichoke tortellini from a Tuscan chef who trained with Massimo Bottura. Pizzeria Popolare, near the Bourse, says most of its menu is vegetarian, starting with a pistachio pesto and stracciatella pizza; see our pizza guide. Gros Bao, by the Canal Saint-Martin, makes half its menu meat-free, from mapo tofu options to hong shao eggplant, and our Chinese restaurants have more.
Chef menus that adapt
Tasting menus can be a gamble for vegetarians, so call ahead. At Substance, in the 16th, Top Chef alumnus Matthias Marc cooks a surprise menu with a plant-forward streak and low-sugar desserts. Mosuke par Mory Sacko, Eels and Double Dragon are on this list too; they all cook meat and fish, but they can build a vegetarian meal if you warn them when you book.
Where to look, and when
The 10th arrondissement and the 11th have the most vegetarian-friendly tables, followed by the 9th and the 18th. Most places are mid-priced. For a vegetarian-friendly brunch, Les Bariolés de Maud serves its crispy filled triangles in the 9th; our breakfast page has more morning spots. Switch to the map to see what's near you, and read each place's review summary for what vegetarians actually ordered.
