28 Cheap Eats in Paris Approved by Le Fooding
Cheap food in Paris has a bad reputation, and near the sights it usually deserves it: a rubbery croque, a tourist crêpe, a sandwich that spent the morning in plastic. The good cheap eats exist, but they're tiny, busy and rarely on the first page of Google.
Le Fooding, the French guide to creative, relaxed places, tracks them closely. Here are its cheap eats in Paris: 28 spots for a proper meal on a small budget, with prices, hours and tips to skip the line. Want more options? See our wider cheap eats and quick bites.

How to eat cheap in Paris, the Le Fooding way
The rule is simple: the more focused the menu, the better the deal. Almost every spot here does one thing, from döner to pho, and does it well. Filter by neighborhood and opening hours, then use the map to find the closest one.
Street food from everywhere
Urfa Dürüm, on the Faubourg Saint-Denis, bakes Kurdish flatbreads to order: about €2.50 for a lahmacun, €10 for a dürüm. Nearby on rue des Petites Écuries, Ozlem makes döner from marinated veal breast, with a sandwich and a drink for €6.50. Sürpriz does Berlin-style döner in Oberkampf, with a halloumi version for vegetarians. In the Marais, Miznon stuffs pitas with everything from ratatouille to beef bourguignon, and roasts whole cauliflowers. Explore more in our Middle Eastern street food page.
Pho, soups and couscous
Ngoc Xuyen Saigon, in the 13th, serves pho from 9:30am and a different soup each day, with crab on Thursdays. Chez Mamane, on the Butte-aux-Cailles, keeps a family couscous tradition going, with fluffy semolina and generous portions. See our Vietnamese food, ramen & noodles and couscous pages.
Burgers, pizza and sandwiches
Dumbo, in a 17m² Pigalle shop, makes about a hundred smash burgers per service; when they're gone, they're gone. Dalmata caps each service at 101 Neapolitan pizzas. At the Marché des Enfants Rouges, Chez Alain Miam Miam builds XXL sandwiches for around €8. More in our burgers and sandwiches pages.
Timing is everything
Many of these places don't take bookings, so dodge the 1pm rush. Miznon closes on Saturday and stops at 4pm on Friday; Ozlem only serves lunch, Monday to Saturday. The 10th has the most Fooding cheap eats, followed by the 9th and the 3rd. Each place page lists opening hours, prices and what to order, plus insider tips like the quietest time to show up.
