Making the most of Time Out's Paris restaurants
Time Out covers the whole city and every budget: on our list, its picks are spread across every price level, from starred tables to cheap eats. That's its strength, and exactly why you need filters. Pick a price, an arrondissement or an opening day above, then switch to the map.
Splurges with a story
La Tour d'Argent, founded in 1582 on the Quai de la Tournelle, still serves its famous duck in blood sauce, with the Seine and Notre-Dame outside the windows. Arpège cooks only produce from Alain Passard's gardens, and David Toutain builds his menus around vegetables near Les Invalides. More in our places with a view and fine dining pages.
Bistros locals book first
On rue de Charonne, Septime and its no-reservation seafood bar Clamato are reason enough to cross the city. Mokonuts serves a lunch-only menu to 20 guests in the 11th, and Le Servan mixes French technique with the chefs' Filipino heritage. Frenchie, Ze Kitchen Galerie and Le Clarence complete the chef-driven side. For more places with a real local following, see our authentic restaurants.
Cheap and cheerful
Time Out loves a good deal. Bouillon Pigalle serves onion soup and bœuf bourguignon in a room for 300, with dishes from about €3. Abri Soba's buckwheat noodles start at €9, and Double Dragon's Korean fried chicken comes with a natural wine list. The list also runs to ice cream parlors and bakeries: see our ice cream and bakeries pages for the full picture.
Where to look
The 11th has the most Time Out picks, then the 10th and the 9th. Staying in the center? Le Marais and the 2nd are well stocked too, so you're rarely more than a short walk from a pick. Before you walk over, open the place page: opening hours are checked, and the reviews summary tells you what people loved and what annoyed them.
