27 Restaurants in the 7th Arrondissement, Minus the Traps
Within sight of the Eiffel Tower, café terraces charge monument prices for tired croque-monsieurs, and the waiter knows you won't be back. The 7th is the most photographed neighborhood in Paris, and one of the easiest places in the city to eat badly.
It's also home to some of the greatest tables in France. These 27 restaurants in the 7th arrondissement were cross-checked across Michelin, The World's 50 Best and Le Fooding, with no paid placements. For cafés, bakeries and shops as well, open our 7th arrondissement guide; for the starred side only, go straight to Michelin in the 7th.

How to pick a restaurant in the 7th arrondissement
This is the most upscale corner of our map: most restaurants here sit in the top price brackets, and dinner adds up fast. The smart move is lunch, when several starred kitchens serve set menus for a fraction of the evening bill. Watch the calendar too: some of the biggest names only open on weekdays, and a few bistros close on Sunday and Monday. Filter by opening hours above, then use the map to find what's near your museum or your hotel.
Classic bistros in the shadow of the tower
La Fontaine de Mars is the postcard bistro done right: red-and-white checkered tablecloths, cassoulet, coq au vin, an île flottante with pralines, and a sheltered terrace facing the fountain. On rue Malar, L'Ami Jean is loud, packed and generous, with Basque touches and a riz au lait people plan their trip around; it's closed on Sunday and Monday. See our traditional restaurants and the best floating island in town.
Starred cooking at lunch
A few steps from the Eiffel Tower, Tomy & Co cooks French food with Asian touches and vegetables from the chef's own garden, and its lunch formula is one of the best deals in the neighborhood. Le Violon d'Ingres serves Southwest classics, from duck confit cassoulet to Grand Marnier soufflé, with starred finesse. Les Parisiens sets vol-au-vent and gratinéed lobster in a 1930s brasserie room, Gaya is Pierre Gagnaire's seafood table, and Auguste, with about 30 seats, only opens on weekdays. More in our fine dining selection.
Tables you book once in a lifetime
At Arpège, Alain Passard's three stars now go entirely to plants, most of them from his own gardens; it only opens on weekdays, and lunch is the gentler way in. David Toutain holds two stars for plant-forward surprise menus near Les Invalides. For the view, Le Jules Verne sits on the Eiffel Tower's second floor (jacket required, ask for a window), while Les Ombres, Jean Nouvel's glass dining room on the Musée du Quai Branly, faces the tower as it sparkles on the hour after dark. Or sit at the counter of L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon and watch the famous purée being made. Browse our Michelin 3 stars, Michelin 2 stars, places with a view and vegetarian restaurants, then compare with the 6th arrondissement next door or the restaurants in Le Marais.
