How to book restaurants open on Monday in Paris
Monday can be the best night of your trip. Tables that are impossible on a Friday open up, and the kitchens that do work tend to be serious about it. Here's how to make the most of it.
Big names that work Mondays
Several of the city's hardest reservations serve on Monday and rest on the weekend instead. Septime cooks Monday to Friday, with a carte blanche menu at lunch and dinner; bookings open at 10am, three weeks ahead. Arpège, Alain Passard's three-star table, has been fully plant-based since July 2025 and also runs Monday to Friday only. If your trip includes a Monday, spend it on the booking you couldn't get for Saturday. More starred tables in our Michelin Guide selection.
Bistros and trattorias with no Monday blues
In the 11th, Le Servan serves its langoustine ravioli and blood-sausage wontons Monday through Saturday. Racines, in the Passage des Panoramas, is open daily for its Sardinian cooking, and Frenchie, on rue du Nil, serves its five-course menu every evening. For a group on a budget, Bouillon Pigalle keeps onion soup and bœuf bourguignon at bouillon prices near the Moulin Rouge. See also our French restaurants and Italian restaurants.
Lunch or dinner?
Monday lunch is the easy slot: office crowds eat fast, and set lunch menus are cheaper than dinner. Dinner is where the closures bite, so filter by Monday dinner specifically rather than Monday in general. And watch the rest of the week: some places open Monday but close early in the week instead, like Shang Palace at the Shangri-La, which serves Thursday to Monday.
Where you'll have the most choice
The 11th and the 8th lead this list, followed by the 9th and the 2nd. Start with our restaurants in the 11th, the 8th arrondissement or the restaurants in the 2nd. Budgets span every level, from bouillon to palace dining room. Hours change on public holidays and in August, so open the place page to confirm the day's schedule, the must-try dishes and the price range before you set off.
